A double win again for Technetix in the 2022 BTR Diamond Technology Reviews

9th September 2022, Albourne, United Kingdom – Technetix is proud to have been recognized as among the best in the industry for the third year running in the 2022 Broadband Technology Report’s Diamond Technology Reviews. The 1.8 GHz Direction Neutral Network technology has been awarded 4.5 diamonds in the active network hardware category and the 1.8 GHz Direction Neutral Splitter Zero Loss, has been awarded a 4.0 diamond award in the same category.

The 1.8 GHz Direction Neutral Network
The Direction Neutral Network (DNN) is a unique concept for the HFC market and forms the basis of the Technetix One Touch NetworkTM. The DNN gives operators a very flexible and high-performance solution to compete with fibre. The complete elimination of diplex filters from the network means that after upgrading to 1.8 GHz the network does not have to be touched again for split changes.

“By allowing the operator to change the upstream/downstream split without a truck roll, this product opens up a new way of viewing the transformation of the outside plant. It also has applicability as a booster amplifier to increase the range of traditional amplifiers without requiring plant reworking.” said the 2022 DTR judges.

Direction Neutral Splitter 1.8 GHz Zero Loss (DNS-1800 ZL)
The DNS -1800 ZL is a combination of Technetix’ low gain flexi-split amplifier and a 3-way splitter in one unit. It can be used as a 2-way or 3-way splitter and is optimised for DOCSIS® 4.0 networks. It prevents loss that would ordinarily have occurred in the network, so achieves the same split to the signal without the additional insertion loss that you would get from a traditional splitter. This helps with the operation of your network and gives you more flexibility when designing the rest of your network in the future.

The judges said, “The low power zero gain features of this splitter/amplifier should make this a very flexible design option when updating existing outside plant legacy designs to 1.8 GHz. This splitter/amplifier should help service providers improve performance on marginal cable spans when updating existing plant to 1.8 GHz.”
